There are a couple of interesting points about this:
- Tipped off by Federico Viticci at MacStories, I did the math on Apple’s iPhone launch events. Over four million iPhone 4Ses in its first weekend puts it a hair north of selling more than all previous iPhone launch weekends combined. Original iPhone: 200,000, iPhone 3G: one million, iPhone 3GS: one million, iPhone 4: 1.7 million = 3.9 million iPhones.
- More than 20 million customers signed up for iCloud. Not bad for the opening weekend of Apple’s attempt to transition its pay-only cloud services into a freemium model.
