Flipboard added a book guide to its expanding list of content that has nothing to do with Twitter. Books are organized into a typical list of topics, and tapping through one takes you to Apple’s iBookstore.
If you remember, Flipboard originally launched as a way to turn your Twitter stream into a magazine based on the links your friends were sharing. But as Twitter has been doing everything it can to discourage great third-party developers and slowly strangle them out of the ecosystem, Flipboard has spread its wings to other social networks and now other types of content entirely, including shopping catalogs. It’s a smart move that I hope will help Flipboard find a healthy life after Twitter.
